Dear Friends,
elcome
to Café 61! Highway 61 is the
famed “Blues Highway” that runs from Canada, right here through
Memphis, all the way through the Mississippi Delta down to New Orleans.
For me, Highway 61 represents hard work (7 years with my
first place 61 On Teur in Midtown Memphis,), great music (we hope you like what you hear!),
travel (as often as I can, and especially to New Orleans), and
diversity from one end of the country to the other (and beyond!). All
of us here have tried to make all these elements
part of this place. We have worked very hard to provide some of the best,
unique and most flavorful “real” food in town. We want
you to sit down and enjoy a great meal, not an art project!
Like the famed intersection of 61 and 49 was for the bluesman Robert
Johnson, this place is my crossroads for the future. We hopefully won’t
have to sell our souls to the Devil like ol’ Robert allegedly did,
but I do hope we surpass your expectations as if we just might have.
Come in to my kitchen and enjoy!!
